We arrived in LV on Oct 29th. The road down was in great shape. A big Norte followed us all the way down. The 30th and 31st were full on Norte, Tyson was throwing pushloops on his 4.5 off the breaking waves at General's sand bar. I was powered up on 5.0. We got those two and the next 4 days on 5.0. Then two days of dangle-able wind, which we used to catch a couple big Sierra off of our cool blue trimaran. Nov 4th and 5th the wind was back up and we raced around on slalom gear while everyone else sailed 5.7s.
The water is really warm no need for a shorty yet, and although we have seen them dead on the beach neither of us has felt any jellyfish stings.
There are a bunch of new restaurants in town, and a few new daytime snack carts near the campground for quick mid session eats.
So far we have sailed 6 out of 8 days, which is an incredibly good start for November.
We will keep you posted.

Heck ya guy it is gonna be a blast.
We Sailed 5.0 Tuesday and Wednesday, but today was hot with near onshore winds. Water is still super warm and very little Jellyfish.
Apparently no one in town has been hit by a stingray yet which is awesome.
We heard there was some bad Wahoo circulating the campground and causing lines at the banos. But free fish is free fish.
Tomorrow looks like an awesome spearfishing / Snorkel day.
Ahhhhh life is so hard down here!!
I think I need another bacon wrapped hot dog.

Ohhhh Dude,
So 3 days ago it looked like it could not possibly be windy. We had a glassy flat morning, then at about the same time we saw a south wind and a north wind converge which is never a good sign. by 1 o'clock it was still pretty dead. Then out of nowhere at 2:00 it started blowing steady 5.4.
Awesome.
Then the last two days we got an awesome Norte that had everyone ripping on 5.0-4.5 with nice swell. The wind was so good that it totally buckled one of our carports. Luckily tyson was there to grab the giant tent before it blew into our unsuspecting neighbors.
Moral of the story is get the nice Costco carport. The lame ones from Kragen will not stand up to the Norte winds after only 2 seasons.
Doh.
Its only 10:00 and already the boys are on 5.0 and I think it is Tyson's turn to drop off the guests at the airport.

I won't be down for 4 weeks. a bit depressed about it.

looks like today you it again. it's amazing how off the reports are sometimes. when you left last February it took me another 9 days to leave because it just keep blowing. even when there was no wind forecasted.
a bit different down the road in LB. wonder if they got any of this ?
it's gonna be a few weeks unfortunately
have fun

Not looking so hot for wind this weekend.
Yesterday was real light. We sailed the trimaran and hooked into a fatty Dorado. We got it close to the boat 3 times but had no gaff to bring it on board. It was the biggest fish of Tyson's life and he still hasn't forgiven himself for losing it. He has been lamenting about it all morning.
Somehow I think we will be heading out on another trimaran fishing adventure today.
Looks to be pretty light this weekend. No Norte in sight.
D'oh
