If you are already going to Rickenbacker, head east over the big bay bridge, go through the next light and turn left onto Virginia Key Beach road, pay yer five bucks, and head about two miles north to the beachTake a right, and stop at the Atlantic ocean. VK is a world class venue, with flatter water on the inside, and peeling breakers on the sandy reef half a mile offshore, Its about the only ocean launch north of the keys, with no gear munching shore break, well most of the time.Today after four days in a row of 25-35 kts. there was some shore break, but no big deal. VK is inlet sailing, so just like Jupiter, NE 16 St. and Boynton Beach you gotta be able to keep upwind, or do the walk. The above mentioned sites are all good in a northeast blow, but none match VK, for waves, wilderness beauty, and the Aloha vibe of the gathering tribe when its windy
