the old jimmy Lewis boards are still real fast. Richard Sperling still uses his or did last summer anyway and was going around 40 knots on it at Lyle. they work fine. Most of the newer boards are a tad wider wich makes em easier to sail although a few of the makers still make a real narrow one. My board is an Exocet warp speed its 68 liters and 50 cm or close to 20 inches wide. Its quite wide for the real windy days at the coast , but it makes it easier to get going on the shorter runs like at lyle. I might add that i weigh around 220. So a smaller board would also be easier to get going if you are lighter. my son is 155 lbs and really likes the exocet as well. Starboard, Carbon art and F2 all have multiple size offerings for Speed boards. hope to see you out going fast with us someday.. cheers, Derek |

There is actually a location named Chinook? That's news to me. I always thought the term was Arapahoe and explained the winds in Colorado. |

Take a look at the map on the top of the first page of this string. You will see Chinook, Wa. You can also click satellite view for google map detail |

Have never sailed there. Can anybody tell me what typical conditions and facilities are? Not really into speed sailing, but would like B/J and forgiving waves. |
