RIP Lothar Schaupp

RIP Lothar Schaupp, my mentor in international business, passed way on an afternoon in Thailand, Nov 27, 2009 after complications of lung and brain cancer. He was the founder of Gorge Sport, USA which I purchased in 2000. I worked for Lothar from 1995 and his spirit remains a lifelong influence and touched many worldwide in so many ways.

Sorry to hear about this, Bill. I remember having one of his fins when I started windsurfing. I knew next to nothing, although something about it just looked right to me. Turned out to be a good fin!

Hi guys,
very sorry to hear about Lothar's passing. Have been meaning to get on here, to extend mine and the rest of the guys at Caution's condolences! Lothar was a great guy, with a great attitude towards life in general. We will miss him...

I remember meeting him at Surf Expo a few years back. I had some screwball idea that probably never would have got off the ground, but he listened to the whole plan, and gave me all his info in Thailand if I wanted his help. Supportive, engaging, and a real dude. Rest in Peace Lothar!

Haven't heard his name in a long while. I bought an aquata board from him at the Toronto board show in the early 80's. He was a great guy to work with.
