Any rental gear on Big Island?

Planning to spend a week on Big Island, Hawaii in February. Does anyone know if there is a place to rent windsurfing gear there?

I don't know this for sure, but I think there are no rentals on the big island. If there were, South Point would be an all time destination. Beautiful, and if the trades are blowing, it is windy there, but a gear failure may put you ashore in Tahiti.

no windsurfing rentals that I know of, except for Kona Village Resort...they have some for the guests...but a very $$ place.

other than that, there might be some locals that would rent you their gear ...but I wouldn't count on it.

Febuary isn't reliable for tradewinds, so I wouldn't bother taking equip either.
Take a day trip to Maui if it looks like good wind.

Kailua is on Oahu, not the big island.

Hey Spyder! Heading your way next Thursday. Any need to bring the ol' W/S harness with me or should I just come by the shop and rent an SUP? Hopefully the monster swells of the last few days will have mellowed out by then. Also, what's the water temp lately? Thanks, Bull

Said it before, that's a long plane ride to those rocks in the middle of the Pacific. Gotta get over to Maui for some windsurfing. Too long a trip not to.
