Great windsurfing site - no strings attached!
Been a long time coming.
Hope the meter on the causeway will be up soon!
Enjoy! |

It's a high-wind mecca just north of Tampa, Florida.
I say that because 100% of the time I've sailed there, my 3.8 sail was VASTLY and consistently overpowered.
Of course, I've only seen the place for one day, so my anecdotal evidence is probably skewed.

Not a high wind meca. This region of the S.E. US is not frequented by high wind. If you happen to live in the Tampa area then this is a nice flat water spot to sail; shallow 3-5 ft in most areas, weed fin necessary. I sail there all the time and have become envious of other regions like the pan-handle or the keys, which get easily twice the sailing days as Fred Howard does. |

I sailed there once. It's only like 1ft deep, and guys were sailing in thunder storms. |

Thunderstorms? In central Florida? Whoulddathunkit?
It's wind, man.
People windsurf among sharks, 1,500-pound sturgeon, ships, submarines, cowpies and barbed wire (right, Craig?), fishing nets, KITES, icebergs, agricultural chemicals, fish kills, territorial Samoan surfers, haoles, liberals, nuclear waste, cabbageheads, conservatives, hail storms, swchandlers, jetskis, lawyers, hurricanes, etc ... why not loud flashes of light?

p.s. Rush is only deep enough for Kiters in these days.

Mike \m/ | I've always thought that carbon masts are lightening rods. |

Maybe we should take up a collection and buy you a big one.
Lightning rod, that is.
Then you can play with that instead of your fin.
