Wow
It seems that the windsurfing community is
a. getting really old and failing apart so we need all these accessories to save us
b. becoming paranoid and over protective like so much else in the modern world
c. totally dorky like the kiters
d. maybe it has just been too long of a winter
What happened to simply putting on a wet suit or even better some shorts and enjoying a free spirited sport
After you get all this stuff is there any $ left to buy a sail?

I would guess that Number-nine has never had any skin cancer problems, or been in a serious accident. Still though, no matter what others might do to protect themselves, you have complete freedom to windsurf the way you want to. Just keep in mind, things can come back to haunt you if you ultimately choose poorly. |

Gerry Lopez wears a hat
Shane Dorian wears a vest
Graham Ezzy wore (wears) a helmet
I tried Barz glasses gut they got all stupid on me, and I've had skin cancer
I wear an ear plug (sometimes)
It Has been too long a winter.
Tommorow I don a helmet, knee and elbow pads and go ice sailing
But...#9 does know about serious accidents .....(like weekly) _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=zw0MgkO7VXw |

I agree, those old guys with the Tilley hats and the Specs goggles, well,
if that's our sports representation, it's doomed. But, I do like to spend
my time on the water without eye strain (or cataracts), so I do wear sunglasses. If
the water were 80 degrees or better, I'd probably just sail in board shorts,
but again, I like to be comfortable while sailing, so it's rubber gear for me.
Also, I'm a big believer in sailing in a manner that makes you feel comfortable
on the water. If that's a Tilley under your hockey helmet with body armor,
and a welding shield, go for it. Just don't expect anybody from Goya or Starboard to offer you a sponsorship. ;*)

Pretty much standard uniform at the event site, for urban weekend warriors, but I guess they feel comfortable and safe wearing that stuff. Hey, whatever floats your boat (board) |

Got health insurance?
You will be defined by your sailing, not your outfit. |
