Does anybody remember Jonnie Lipps and the Boardheads?

Jonnie Lipps and the Boardheads performed at a windsurf event at Crissy one year. They sang all windsurf songs and were a lot of fun. I bought their tape. It had songs on it like No Wind Blues, Shark Bait, Rock N Roll Boardhead, etc. I found them on YouTube:

Does anybody have a tape of this album? Mine was stolen out of my van year ago.

I remember them, particularly Shark Bait.

That was classic mid eightys outfits and song. When did you do that video? Did you ever perform in L.A.?

Hey J, any chance of putting something together? Would need a decent venue. Maybe we could do a windsurf party somewhere this summer-that would be very fun.

I have the tape in my car to this day. The Desendants, the Dead Milkmen and Jonnie Lipps (strange combo) are the only tapes left in my car. CD's and iTunes haves replaced all the rest. It's been a while but I'm sure I'll listen to it on the way to my first session this year, hopefully any day now...

Hey; stop trying to hijack our band to Socal-you have enough bands down there. We need a spot around Rio or San Mateo or San Fran. Where we can show up in numbers and take over. Maybe Jonnie has some ideas. Hey Jonnie, do you know 'Tainted Love' band? They play at lots of places that might work, Sac, SFO etc. check their website. I have a three man group; we might be able to back you-we can play straight forward R&R like that. Only problem is the guys are in Reno-but might be able to travel... Can show you some vid. Maybe you've got enough guys (connections) already. Would be a lot of fun.
