Hey I wanted to know if any of you all are planing on going. The dates are April 15, 16, 17 2010. I've never been to windfest and don't here much info on it. But I think I'm definitely going, probably going to pull a hobie 16 down there in case the wind is light and pray it's not. Cheers -Oleg

I go to Windfest every year. It has become a grass roots event. Mainly windsurfers just getting together sailing and having fun. Some beer drinking and board tossing with bonfires at night. Good to meet other windsurfers and talk gear etc. They do have free lessons for beginners.

Me and my sprinter van will be there again.
Looking forward to some good strong SW, NE or N wind to practice my chop hops.

Reservations, are a good idea, however the turn-out has been getting smaller and smaler each year. Especially from the vednors, poor performance on their part, in my opinion. anyways your probably going to want reservations for the sound camp sites or camping cabins, the rest of the campground is always not filled at this time of year.

I have been to Windfest every year and it continues to get smaller. I do not recommend staying right on the beach. This time of year the weather can do anything. It could blow 40 from the north one day. Which means your camp site may be a little wet when the water rises if your tent survives the blow. And the next day it could be sunny and hot. Then it feels like you are camping in the desert. Get a site one or 2 rows from the beach. This allows for the trees to block strong winds and gives you shade.
I heard that the guy in New England that always organized this event passed away this winter. I have not heard if that will effect Windfest. I won the board toss last year so I will be back trying to make it 2 years in a row.
