Places to stay in Avon area

Folks, I'm coming down to Avon to windsurf the 22nd and 23rd of May and would like to stay near sound-side windsurfing. Any suggestions?

Just those 2 days? Camp at Frisco Woods campground, or checkout motels in Buxton like the Lighthouse View Motel, Comfort Inn, Croatoan Inn for a short 2 mile drive to Canadian Hole. Or check with OceanAir Sports , think they have an apartment above the shop they may let out.

Slim chance, but Hatteras Realty may have a soundside house available.

I'd also recommend Frisco Woods Campground for soundside camping - google them and you'll get their website with some photos. But like every other place on Memorial Day weekend - Hatteras is very busy so plan early and prepare for crowds even at the campground and small motels. This is the start of the rental season so things rent out pretty quickly.
