Basically having the storm track so far south is delaying the ramp up of Gorge winds. But for most sailors the season does not start until later in the Spring.

I just ran a query on my WS log and I see I've been in the 20-30 days on the water since 2003 for the months of March and April combined. Even last year when I was stuck in Chicago from Feb to June off an on, I got 16 days those two months. So far this year, 9 days. I could have more if I were willing to race down to Candlestick or Berkeley from West Marin on a hint of wind. But that's not really feasible. So yes, this year totally sucks so far.

Ditto for me.

From 1/1/10 to now - 11 days.

Last year from 1/1/09 to 4/16/09 - 27 days.

Hey Guys:

Haven't you noticed? There are lots of lovely wild flowers on the hills.

Yeah you're right. And today I went to a lamb shearing. It was very exciting.

I've got 25 days windsurfing this year, but a handful of those have been at least moderately sucky. Razz I did plane during all those sessions and my largest sail is 5.3. Only a few missed days though...

Zero days for me in 2010.
But hey, I have tee ball to look forward to at 11am.
Perhaps a walk in the Marin hills after, skipping through the
Wild flowers and admiring the sheared lambs.

As the Irish say " are you sour" "yes I am" !

The North West winds better pick up soon and start churning
up the Pacific or the fishing is going to take another hit this year.

Thanks, Windfind, for the explanation. Looks like all things considered we may have to wait a year for good Spring winds. Hope not. \

Horrible start of the season but I did get to sail quite a bit. april was actually worse than Feb/March.

A suggestion that I think is not heard enough: a big sail and a big board buy you at least 2 months of extra sailing time in the Bay Area. And it is fun! new big boards and sail are VERY easy and fast.

I use an Isonic 111 and I also have an older ML 77 wide. With a 7.3 (will get an 8.0 in fall), and my 155 pounds, I can go out pretty much in any light condition ...
