Just like windsurfers, there are three'ish groups of kiters, roughly, that use the Event Site:
1. A place to launch. Rig, launch, and later. Going up wind to swells, or down wind to butter. See you in 3 hours when I land to go home/eat lunch.
2. Beginners. Going to stay close to where I launched so I can stand up when needed and figure this thing out. Look out, I am learning...
3. Dudes, check me out. I am going to throw down right in front of everyone. It's fun for me to be watched by the camera toting tourists. Look at me.
Frankly, I don't think the two groups, windsurfers and kiters, are different. Different toys, same goals.

Tetiaroaxx's comments should pretty well put this one to bed but it would seem like a kiters' nightmare to see the whole Event site filled with kites. How could it not be mayhem and carnage on the water. I would almost pay to watch. |
