Jeff,
Many, many, many moons ago when i was new to windsrfing(11 ft board, 6.5 sail)A buddy and myself sailed anywhere there was water, including puddingstone lake. Mainly because i also had sailed my catamaran there and my first solo was at Brakett airport next to the lake. It does get an afternoon sea breeze like the rest of So Cal. It's probably 13-15(kiting?) most summer days and warm water, also small enough to not really get in trouble if your learning. It gets crowded with boats and jet ski's on weekends. Good luck!

Jeff we learned there in the 80s....I work near by..... it picks up a west wind around 4 pm ...the problem is the dam blocks the wind from anything serious.........3 or 4 x a year.... it may catch a North wind ...it is a great place to kayak bike or teach a beginner....the other problem is the charge admission for the park AND your board so around $20? try raging waters!..... |
