Thanks for all the good advice. The sheeting in idea and the smaller fin are things I'm gonna try out.

Surfing the swells downwind at Crissy in an ebb is a real thrill. Like the other poster said, you keep overtaking the swells from behind, and it looks like you're gonna stick the nose and launch, but just hang on and you'll just keep speeding over them. Don't shy away from those days just because of one bad experience.
