Volunteers Needed & VOTE!

Hi Gorge Windsurfers -

The Hood River Chamber of Commerce is looking for strong swimmers and paddlers to help out with the annual Roy Webster Cross Channel Swim on Monday, September 5th.

In exchange for a few hours of your time, the Chamber will donate $50 per volunteer to CGWA! If we can recruit 15 volunteers, that's $750 to benefit Gorge windsurfing. Help us out! Here are the details:

- Date: September 5th
- Time: 6am to noon
- Volunteer Reception: Wed, August 31st at 5:30pm. Hear from the Sheriff about your volunteer duties and pick up your FREE t-shirt!

Also, voting is now open for the 2011 Gorge Windsurf Awards. Be sure to vote before Monday, and join us at the end of season party on August 31st when we award the winners.

- Time: 6-10pm
- Music: Dance, funk, soul from The Bigfoot Band
- Food: Solstice Wood Fire Cafe Pizza (and 10% of sales go to CGWA, so eat lots of pizza!)
- Beer and wine will be available for purchase. All ages welcome.
