getting to be that time of year for a big wind/wave day.
would really like to set this up for an ocean side event..
last year was a blast at corp.
turn out and stoke level was high.
organization low.

Format will be that we can call a date and location for Sat or Sunday
normally several days advance notice. (due to this years wind may be tough but we will try)
Everyone show up and sail until you drop or break a bunch of stuff.

So:
question is if we shoot for Nauset or Head of the meadow who would be in?
Nauset works with SSW-S and N-NNE directions
Meadow for NW and SE-SSE.

Optional choice would be
Corp for NW
Hardings for W
Long strong NE would be Bayview or mayflower
These 3 are tamer conditions but likely to draw more sailors.

how about somewhere along the eastern shore of cape cod? open ocean swells coming from lotsa directions would make for longer wave rides?

I guess the question is, do you want quantity or elite quality? Last year was a pretty big day at Corp, but it was totally doable and fun for a stoked intermediate wave sailor like me. A mast high day at Nauset or HotM could eat someone like me up, but I'd probably be fine in the same sort of conditions at Corp, etc. It's really up to whether you want more people sailing or more people watching.

Data point for me: I'll show up wherever it is, but I'd sure like to sail, too.

I would do either...just hoping it works out for the last weekend of October as I'll be training for the event earlier in the month in Maui.

In general if it is side shore wind and the right tide and wave setup outer cape is in some ways easier to sail than corp in NW

JE and I will try to call it as best as we can.
Will avoid a fluky side off day with big surf so it is reasonable conditions for all sailors. We want all to have fun not just watch, most of us are not that good to be watched.

We should try to get it done between now and end of October as that is going to be best for temps and long day at the beach.

training in maui sounds fun. may not apply to the scrappy waves, wind and cold of NE but I would still go to train.
