Good fx for side/side-off with an easterly swell. 11:40 Low Tide. Will try to be on it by ~1:30.

Thursday:
Strong S/SW winds. Widespread low 20's with RI and the Cape pushing into mid 20's. Strong gusts likely ahead of a front that will push through mid day with showers and T-storms.

...hopefully a nice follow-up to the HN Huck

I'm in, if that forecast materializes. Otherwise, somewhere on the Cape.

It really depends on the size of the surf and how offshore the wind is. If the surf is not too big, it'll be easier to get out (obviously). And if the winds are side-off and high enough to get planing, it's easy to get back in.

Of course, if the surf is bigger and you're really a newbie, you'll just be trying to get through the shore break, so it won't matter which way the wind is blowing. Smile Your first several times wave-sailing around here will be all about paying your dues in the break, there's just no way around that. But it sure feels good once you've learned how. For your first few times, you might not want to use your favorite brand new board; the rinse cycle can sometimes get rough on your gear. At least Nahant has no rocks to worry about.

I think Thursday would actually be a fine day for a wave newbie at Nahant, because the wind is supposed to be mostly sideshore and the waves are only supposed to be 3' high.

CG could be good Thrusday calling for 9ft swell @ 10 sec. and mid 20's out of the SSW = side -off. High tide is late in the day but CG breaks good at high tide.
Crazyfingers you out there?
Few shots from October last year at CG...

hmm. tempting.
I do have an 85 liter RRD FSW. it's actually the very same one in the pics above (picked it up from Evans last year), just not me riding it ...i wish !! Too small to start with ?

my back up board is an F2 277 Ride 103 liter (Skate is out of commission still), but it has more of a slalom shape. I would think the Kona one in 3 foot waves for a wave newbie would be tough
