haha.. great find longboard08! ..not quite what i was looking for, but defo worth watching... apparently im still almost 30yrs behind Robby..

colorit.. thats what im talking about!.. would love to see something like that in video, how far can good riders push it on longboards...? getting vertical?, off the lip?
and thats the same board ive got.
as i use it more, i quite often find i just stay on it even if the wind and waves pick up. just liking the longboard cruisy feel..
and truth is, where i sail its lightwind, or if it picks up, it tends to get pretty gusty, holey..so the longboard really helps.
yaya, i know i'll never loop, vulcan, spock, etc. it.. but chances are im not going to on my smaller boards either. Confused

anyway, seems to be lots of video of surfers pushing it in bigger conditions on longboards, and sups, but not so much windsurfers..?

At 3:43 in this video there's almost a minute of Fabrice Beaux sailing the RRD SUPER SUP 8'11" in San Carlos.

I've got a hankering to shape myself one of these. I've only ever done short boards so I'm a bit lost regarding the rocker lines.

If anybody who has one of these things (thinking specifically the Kona/Curve 11'5") I'd be curious to get a few rough rocker numbers.

Cheers

Chris

the 11'5 is in high demand. my guess is you should buy it, sail it, rip it off, and the n resell it.

same goes for the exocet windsup. just had a solo sesh on it today in waves well overhead. been wanting to try that for months! ridqulously easy! wish more folks would get out in the surf with me.

the waves were big, and a bit choppy side on. the wind SUP did very well in the 6-9 foot stuff available. crumbling outside with steeper inside sections at times. the long board aspect allows one to catch the waves very early, way outside. this allows fun, safe rides that will not get one in troublesome late drops.

foot straps too were a must with some rides. got some killer frontside to backside cutbacks.

I'd like to try one of these longboards vs that AHD board (fish?) .

It doesn't take a lot of wind to get my Aero 117 going, here in Baja, but there are days ...

In San Calos is a Nah Skwell rider with a 7'8" fish if you see him check out the board its the sister board of the AHD Sealion classic and it can sail too.
There is a inherent difference from a long board to a Nah Skwell or AHD Sealion fish. The fish gets going as early if not earlier in waves and can achive higher speed in mushy waves and turn way more radical or soft if you want. And it actaully can plan like a regular windsurfboard in under 15 miles wind (and up to 25 milles)

I would be riding with ya if i wasn't 10 states away. Been riding the Wind SUP for about a month now. Its the most fun board i have ever ridden. It rips in waves, and i havent even put foot straps on it yet. Even Posted a couple of reviews.

That pic is sweet. I am taken down all my hookipa posters and going to put this pic up. A real world sailor, a real world wave, and a real world board. Love it.

hey reefwarrior..
just wondering if you had ever ridden the kona/exocet 11 5.. and how it would compare to the windsup? much of an advantage?
ive been riding the 11 5 for a couple of years now..and it has at least tripled my ride time.. if it wasnt for that board id still be messin' with kites..haha..
