No i dont have alot of experience with the 11 5. But i did sail it a couple of times in flat water. I am leaving for hatteras tomorrow! for a quick trip, maybe i will demo a 11 5 and get back to ya. I think they are close in performance, just Wind SUP has the dagger board. Which is huge for were i sail. I am upwind in 1 tack versus 3 . Thus 3 times more the waves to ride.

i just had an opportunity to sail both back to back. was demo'ing both to a friend. again, my perspective is about wind speeds and angle.

wind SUP wins with angle to catch waves any angle, and in the lightest of winds.

11'5 wins in more powered conditions and faster breaking waves. has better planing acceleration when the wind is stronger too.

they are nearly equal in turning provided one puts the base all the way back on the wind SUP.

11'5 excels at aerials. haven't had the conditions, nor balls, to try any with the windSUP.

have not used the dagger with the windSUP at all, since i use 6.8 or 7.5 sails in the surf.

BTW, the wind yesterday was 9-14 side on, and veered to 15 degrees side off and picked up to 14-20. the 11'5 started to really allow me to go front side early and forever with a ton of speed and power.

either board allows me to get off my adze, and to the beach with confidence that i will be sailing in the surf. those that paddle, the skunk factor is 0.00%. me, since i don't, is only 0.10%

these pics are from nearly 2 years ago. wind was side onshore at about 10-14. sail i chose was a bit small, but the forecast had convinced me it was the right one....

Found this one on youtube. I hope nobody's posted it already, didn't get past the first page before I started my own search. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaAH34dPiFE&feature=related

looked like it was side off and very puffy. the rider did not look like he wanted to go for any big moves. don't blame him one bit, it looked very cold. denmark, those folks are tough!

Great find, photodad. Definitely never saw that video before. I love the 11'5 and am getting ready to buy the Windsup 11'8. Right on, reefwarrior, we need more posters of real world boards in real world locations.....

Not "wave sailing" videos (although one does get a ride or 2 on some waves) but definitely worth while longboard vids.

Hey surfersbeach:

That video is sweet. Even with the stills you get a great feel for the action.

Shame the video is not public for all to see. Are you the poster?

I thought some were smaller than the 11.5 too.

I had a great session on my minitanker (underpowered on a 4.2) on Friday. Other guys were on much smaller stuff but I like the added security the Mt provides and my wave riding is so rudimentary at this stage I can not see how having anything smaller would make it better.
