cool videos....both the skate board and land sailing ones. Thanks for sharing.

Funny, this past weekend, just happened to find an old skateboard in my inlaw's basement which they didn't want. Been practicing a little Smile
Yah...I am a novice skateboarder !!
Maybe I'll get brave and mount a mast base to it some day.

Greyghost, I believe, since you already know how to windsurf, you will find the extra balance provided by the sail makes land sailing much easier to do than skateboarding.

I was not a skateboarder before 1-15-08 when I first land sailed my 42 inch Freboard (wide trucks, wide but regular skateboard diameter wheels). My only 5-15 times of skateboard experience before that was on a very cheap, very short, very narrow skateboard in about 1975. I was a terrible skateboarder. In 1994 through 2007 I used a modified toboggan with a windsurfing rig for sailing on ice or hard packed snow. The snow & ice sailing did help prepare me for wheeled land sailing. But even without that I'm sure you'll find land sailing is easier than plain skateboarding. I'm still terrible as a skateboarder.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Loaded product line. The Loaded Vanguard is the most versatile board for carving/hillbombing on the planet - AND you can use it for street sailing. (it's a little narrow for novice street sailors - but it can definitely be done.) LDP is a great core workout that gets you mind used to moving your body in ways it doesn't normally move. I got into LDP big time a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

Greyghost

Get a ripstick for your basement, excellent for balance, great carving sensation, and a darn good workout. I love mine, I ride with my kids , and have a blast. You can pick one up for around 60 bucks at sports authority.
