Has anyone had any experience with their Wave and No Spin Cross line? I just ordered a Wave to check them out. I'm sailing primarily Bump n Jump conditions and looking for something other than the traditional swept wave outline that I've been using for...forever!
Any thoughts?

I run a 32 cm NoSpin on my Exocet Cross 106. It's by far the best fin I've found for that board for B&J, wave, & freeride conditions with 5.5 - 6.8 sails.
It grips and goes upwind great, but its shortness leaves enough rail-to-rail looseness for a single back footstrap setup. I'm using it in the first part of this video:

The grip kicks in even at low speeds so it's easy to pump onto a plane when you're underpowered.
I've tried other short fins that give you a lot to push against, like various "weed wave fins," but they all feel slow and draggy with less upwind ability than the NoSpin.
One time I tried a buddy's 93 liter JP with a 24 cm MUFin wave fin, and I liked that a lot. Much looser than the NoSpin but still with a good feeling of speed and power. I've thought about getting biggest MUFin wave fin (26 cm) for my Cross for those 5.5 days with big fast waves when the 32cm NoSpin is a little too much. _________________ James' Blog: Windsurfing Equipment Size Calculator

Thanks Jim! It's the 24 Wave I have on order.I have yet to read anything bad about these fins. Sounds like everyone that has tried them, like em. _________________ The Time a Person Spends Windsurfing is not Deducted from their Lifespan...

Excellent video ... You make that look too easy. Question: when you are on the larger board, going into the wave, the back end looks kick out (downwind) ahead of the wave a couple times ... Is that you pushing the back away to go up into the wave, or is the board breaking loose a bit? |

And they will certainly work in B&J
That's primarily why I got it. It just arrived today. Dang this is one stiff fin! _________________ The Time a Person Spends Windsurfing is not Deducted from their Lifespan...

Actually if you ever did take it in the waves I think you might be surprised. They are quite responsive. I am sold on the fins, they have worked really well for me... for wavesailing. |
