Models show a good north wind this Thursday.
So where is a good place to head from Sacramento???
Maybe lighter on the east side of the valley???
(Means Folsom and Rancho Seco would be no good.)
Not a member of West Sac sailing club so cant go there.
Does Sherman work OK on a north to NW wind?
Maybe head west rather than up river?
What about Sandy Beach in Rio?
thanks.

"Does Sherman work OK on a north to NW wind?"
Only if you have strong knees and ankles, and you like to sail either OP or "stop and go."
"What about Sandy Beach in Rio?"
Depends how you feel about swimming. |

Thanks for the tips.
Probably wont go there today.
Too bad because the north wind always piles up on the west side
of the Sacramento Valley.
BTW, I am Sacramento Bruce.
Not the other "Brucie" of forum fame.
Really! |

N/NE, N, N/NW wind event, a windy spot in Delta is at the following:
slough bridge: Pull over and park on the left side of the road after the ThreeMile Bridge (link below). Although the air temp will increase, I bet the water would be a little chilly. Rig at parking or down the beach area. Need to swim out. It can be really up/down near shore making waterstarting a challenge at times, but at the same time, you might get pushed towards the bridge. If you do get pushed under bridge, try to swim/walk (if low tide) towards the North side of the bridge and walk/swim back towards shore http://g.co/maps/zrf6f http://maps.google.com/maps?q=slough+bridge,+Rio+Vista,+CA&hl=en&ll=38.107277,-121.700063&spn=0.000068,0.039611&sll=38.161277,-121.691985&sspn=0.019672,0.039611&vpsrc=0&hq=slough+bridge,&hnear=Rio+Vista,+Solano,+California&t=h &z=15&layer=c&cbll=38.107361,-121.699994&panoid=flv_Gksf0Yi1uPCUef5x7g&cbp=12,326.23,,0,6.88 |

I am not a member and have sailed there 3-4 times. Just launch off the rocks in the little inlet before the club. I bet it was good today! |
