just to show you how delusional right wing partisan media owners are... they believe they are the victims...

yet already they have found just in the campaign contributions the right wingers get 2 to one on fat cat donations that are visible.

This until shown incorrect is a minimum of what the black hidden money is too. And not to mention this money is just turned over to right wing media owners like this partisan idiot..

But many wealthy donors rejected the notion that the playing field is tilted in their favor.

“Baloney,” said Stanley Hubbard, a Minnesota media mogul who largely backs Republicans and conservatives. “The average person can get their friends together and raise small donations that amount to big donations.”

Together, 310 donors gave a combined $11.6 million more by this summer than would have been allowed before the ruling. Their contributions favored Republican candidates and committees over Democratic ones by 2 to 1.

Washington Post owner Jeffrey P. Bezos is replacing publisher Katharine Weymouth with Frederick J. Ryan Jr., a former Reagan administration official who was part of the founding leadership team of Politico. Here are some facts to know about him.

Quote:
The beginning of a new era at The Washington Post might be traced to a private conversation between two old friends in January at that fustiest of Washington insider rituals, the annual Alfalfa Club dinner.

Frederick J. Ryan Jr., having recently decided to step down as president of Allbritton Communications and chief executive of Politico, was discussing the turbulent media business with his guest, philanthropist Jean Case, a former technology executive and wife of AOL founder Steve Case.

She asked him what he wanted to do next, and according to someone with knowledge of the conversation, Ryan replied, “I want to be publisher of The Washington Post.”

Case offered to introduce Ryan to The Post’s new owner, Jeffrey P. Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon.com, who had been involved in business deals with AOL.

It was yet another turn of a quintessentially Washington establishment success story — that is, one built on connections and relationships.

On Tuesday, Ryan got the job he wanted. In a surprise move, Bezos announced that Ryan will replace publisher Katharine Weymouth, the only member of the Graham family, which has led The Post since 1933, who remains at the paper.

wow is this journalism professor missing the secret sauce. He is correct that the right wing hate media is polarizing the right wing. Again he points out 15 years, I believe it started when Rush felony arrested druggy Limbo got popular was that 25 years ago? and note his only cited source for the liberal side is MSNBC, and they have had Joe right wing moron in the morning for 3 hours everyday. And to add to that the first partisan liberal has not even been on that show 8 years. And he does not even bring up the fact that partisan radio hate talk has been out there for 30 years and there to this day is not one partisan liberal that is on coast to coast on the radio. NOT one...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/larry-atkins/advocacy-journalism-is-po_b_5526745.html

Quote:
Over the past 15 years, as newspaper circulation has declined, more and more people are turning to advocacy journalism via websites, talk radio, cable TV, and blogs to get their news. The problem is that many of these blogs and websites are biased, have an agenda, don't do much fact checking, aren't edited, and aren't held accountable when they get facts wrong. TV networks like MSNBC and FOX News and talk radio talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck have a clearly biased agenda. Yet, many people rely on advocacy journalism as their main source of news.

Perhaps most importantly, advocacy journalism is polarizing our country.

A new Pew Research Center for the People & the Press poll indicates that Americans are more polarized politically than ever.

The study states:

"Republicans and Democrats are more divided along ideological lines - and partisan antipathy is deeper and more extensive - than at any point in the last two decades. These trends manifest themselves in myriad ways, both in politics and in everyday life. And a new survey of 10,000 adults nationwide finds that these divisions are greatest among those who are the most engaged and active in the political process."

As reported by Andrew Beaujon of Poynter.org on June 10, a newly released survey by the Public Religion Research Institute and Brookings Institute on religion, values, and immigration reform revealed that "people's media choices have a strong effect on their beliefs." The study stated that, "Only 42% of Republicans who most trust Fox News to provide accurate information about politics and current events support a path to citizenship, compared to 60% of Republicans who most trust other news sources."

........

Despite conservatives' claims that the mainstream media is liberally biased, the mainstream media does a much better job of being fair and balanced than FOX News or MSNBC. You'll never hear NBC's Brian Williams call President Bush a moron or President Obama a socialist.

In light of the explosion of media outlets ranging from cable news outlets, talk radio, blogs, and websites, we need to be more savvy news consumers. As I tell my journalism students, it's important to consider the source of the information before we make our judgments. We need to stop elevating advocacy journalists as credible news sources. In some cases, advocacy journalists might be giving their audience accurate facts, however, in many cases, they will slant the facts and present them in a manner that advances their argument or agenda. There's nothing wrong with that. Their shows are like video editorial/op-eds. Such programs have value in rallying their base audience, presenting information and arguments in an entertaining manner, and giving them talking points when arguing with family and friends.

White cop shoots black Michael Brown in Missouri, allegedly in self defense. Media goes wild.

Black Mohammed Brown serially shoots up to four white men, the latest in NJ, and boasts that it was jihad against white Americans (i.e., infidels). Media ignores it, at least until local TR host stirs the puddin'.

ya only several thousand articles on him in the past week. But seems he can be more linked with racism as killing Gays.

But the bigger issue is always the poor will commit more crime on one another. The rich who steal billions to trillions who impact every americans life are not held accountable. And they themselves make more poor people.

Next the huge difference that seems to really elude you is when the government is involved in racism like a police department and murder of cource we need people to protest if institutional. That is the only way that will change. Again being paid to be a racist...

New Jersey native wanted for Seattle gay bar killings spotted in Point Pleasant Beach
Seattle, Point Pleasant Beach and U.S. marshals are looking for Ali Muhammed Brown, 30, in connection with the murder of two men at a Seattle gay club in June and for an armed robbery in New Jersey on Sunday.

By the way one of the victims well at least his family members are black.

could also be that the news in the last week had a Navy washout in the headlines for killing his 5 kids and putting them in trash bags. As we have heard something like 20-25% of people who go into the military in recent times have some sort of psychological disorder. I am wondering if it is just the men who enter the military. You just do not see crimes committed by females that are or were in the military.

Father booked into S.C. jail for murder charges; 5 children identified

Quote:
A South Carolina father is suspected of killing his five small children about one week before they were reported missing.

Timothy Ray Jones, 32, was arrested Saturday in Mississippi and has been booked into a jail in Lexington County, S.C., on suspicion of murdering his children, ages 1 to 8.

Jones was extradited to South Carolina Thursday afternoon, two days after he led officers to a secluded clearing in Alabama, where the bodies of the children were discovered.
