Guns have been around a long time, but this new wave of mass killings has never been like this...

Jonestown: koolaide.
WTC: airplanes.
Boston: bombs.

Oklahoma City: bomb.
Airliner hijackings: bombs, box cutters, taking over the controls ...
Arson.
Blunt instruments.
Knives, machetes, automobiles,

YET the left focuses entirely on guns ... the only weapon above with any practical value in STOPPING a mass killing real time.

as I said the founders intent was not guns that could shoot so many bullets and kill massively. Gun technology had not changed much in their lifetime. they could have never meant we can own shoulder launch missiles. As I have said before I have no problem with mandating every home have a weapon of the founders time. and have no problem with people with modern weapons keeping them in a armory. The so called armory is a gun club and no guns can be removed except in time of invasion.

Japan is the perfect example of what restricting guns can do. You just can not fight the facts of what Japan is able to do, are they better than america? or do we put our underware the same way one foot at a time.

and needless to say you do not hear the so called liberal media asking candidates what did the founders intend at the time do ya. and you have to agree it is a point that should be debated in america.

another right wing waco gun fanatic.. friend of Fox news

A killer who ‘terrorized the community’ or an unfairly accused man?

Quote:
For their part, prosecutors conceded that there was a large gap between the first killing and the latter two, but offered an explanation. Lord said that after the time frame when Dunning was killed, Severance was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon — in 2005, in Rockingham County — and banned from owning a gun. He wasn’t able to get the type of gun he wanted, Lord said, until he persuaded a woman he was dating some 10 years later to buy guns for herself. Lord said that Severance ultimately moved out of that woman’s home when the police wanted to question him, and when he did, the guns disappeared. The woman is expected to testify.

Great example, but only pertinent assuming the US had started their gun control efforts in the 1700's, but then we would still be under British rule (or Indian) had the colonists banned weapons. Given our history, it's VERY clear why the second amendment was established.

From the Library of Congress:
Quote:
Guns have been controlled in Japan since the late sixteenth century. After the Second World War, gun control became very strict. Many civilians have never seen a gun in their lives. In order for a person to own hunting guns and to hunt animals and birds with a gun, he or she must pay a hunting tax and obtain a gun-possession permit, hunting license, and hunting registration. The process for obtaining a gun-possession permit is cumbersome and time-consuming. The number of people who possess guns has been declining as a result of the very strict regulations.

The relationship between gun possession and crimes or suicides has not been studied in great detail. There are very few deaths by gunshot in Japan, which has a low homicide rate overall. The suicide rate, on the other hand, is very high, and many speculate that if Japanese people were able to possess guns more freely, the suicide rate would rise sharply. However, no scientific research has been conducted on that question.

Matty. Where I grew up, everyone owned a gun. It was not a liberal or conservative thing. Even now, in my tiny mountain town, most of the environmental greenies have a gun. The other night, I got in a spirited discussion with a devoted Hillary supporter during dinner. Total liberal. After dinner he had to show me, proudly, his new 9 mm.

Gun control has become a political issue and a another way to foster division in the electorate. Just like abortion and global warming. Once an issue becomes politicized, common sense, reasonable, legislation becomes very difficult to achieve.

so note your only dispute is 1700s... so it works well.

piece of cake, Australia is another prime example of more recent. as you probably know many more examples.
