Xcellent advice. Not only do you get hurt easily loitering in the break, it is exhausting and discouraging to get beat up before you even try to get a ride.

Zirtaeb - on the plus side for Jerri would be warm water, tons of wind and excellent rentals at Club Ventos/Vela.
I've never been to PSC.

Thanks for that!
Paulo mentioned it to me couple years ago, while he was winning Nationals here in Berkeley. I'd known of Jeri for about 20 years, well before it was in Windsurf or Sailboarder magazines. Seems every picture of it was of 2' waves, a little crowded, winds crossoff like SanCarlos, and low upwind land, meaning filled in winds.
I'd say those two spots are about the best learning centers of wave sailing, talking DTL bottom turn off the lip cutback style, not onshore wind wave riding backside.
While California has Tourmaline, and Stinson, It's, NB, Lane, C street, and a host of other possible good wave riding spots, none are EASY with cross off steady winds and small powerless waves, flat sandy beach, warm water, and eq on the beach.
