Nick, the Neo did its job. Mostly pain free the next day.
Katie, any maneuver that would have lowered the tail would have made for an even bigger faceplant! I sailed too far into hazardous water and was duly humiliated for it. _________________ Michael

At least you recognize, even after trashing the kiter, that you made the error. Twintip kiteboards have a draft of about 3 inches... they can access water a windsurfer can't.
I do both and know the right of way rules, that said, I've been kiting when windsurfers decide to play chicken... if you are on a sailcraft, just stay clear by 30 meters of any kiter, regardless of their skill level. The kiter and you will be thankful for it. |

You must be kidding, right? Most of us would love that kind of luxury. |

In the moments immediately preceding the crash, yes. In the 40 seconds before that, no. The kiter staying in my jibe path (upwind was blocked by bad water) gave no option at all. Had the positions been reversed I would have transitioned, regardless of the upwind boat type. He was clueless and rude. That I didn't bail out until it was too late was my fault. _________________ Michael

The fin will need some serious sanding. It may need to have a few inches sawed off...must see if I can repair a gouge in the leading edge. U2U2U2 wrote: | Did you damage the board or fins ?
Pleased to see you are recovering ....... |

Try 2x2 gauze sponges and 3M "Nexcare" Gentle Paper tape with that Neosporin. 2x2s will absorb any, um, juices that come out, and the Gentle Paper tape is excellent, holds well but doesn't irritate or pull too hard on removal. Stock items in Spennie's first aid kit! _________________ Spennie the Wind Junkie
