If, in the bay area, you only had ONE piece of data to forecast the wind conditions, I would take the daytime high temp for San Francisco.
To wit; If the high is 65 or less; then the fog is in and head for Rio, may be too foggy at Crissy, even San Mateo and Isabel.
If the high is between 67 and 73, then San Mateo, Isabel, and even the Coast may be in play.
Finally if the high is 75 or higher head for Da Stick and Treasure, as it's too hot for anywhere else. (BTW, over 80, do something with the wife or husband).
Your thoughts?

In the East Bay Area, I would take the fog pattern. I rely on web cams much more than the S.F. temperature. Lawrence Hall of Science view is precious.

Agree with the posts, as a rule. But of course I'e seen nice wind by the south tower when the rest of SF is shorts and tee shirts. And I was in 25mph winds at TI a few weeks ago when we hadn't seen an atopm of fog for days.

Going to TI and Crissy from the Eastbay on Weekends, my most precious resource is the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza cam (SFGate). If the traffic is backed up, I know to take West Grand and get around 1 hour plus sitting in my car. (Weekdays are not an issue.) Love them traffic cams!

I would call a certain cab driver, father of two, freestyle sailor, and ask him where the wind is going to be....... Very Happy
