Hey, I am new to windsurfing and have this great option to buy a Tiga 257 VR . It comes with a fin. The seller is selling it for only 170$. I am sure this is a good price but is it a good board to lean with? I think its a95 liter board.

Thanks!!

unless you weigh 50 kilos forget about it - as a learner
where u are going 2 sail - what are the conditions ?
the ad says wave and is not floaty ie needs wind and wave

the reason i ask about conditions is - people usually start with big boards - like WinSUPs now ...
BIC Nova, Fanatic Viper, Exocet Cruiser, etc
some people have surf experience and skip this step
some people have taken lessons and skip this step

do NOT rush out and buy stuff that you will regret after ...
other good buys will show up
if that board is as old as i think it is - it should be less $$$ anyways ...

No. Find a used longboard in good shape. Get a newer sail (not a crappy old sail like I started with). I have been a slow learner, some of that is me, some of it the wrong equipment at the wrong time. You will go further/faster and have more fun with a much bigger board to start.

I would say regardless of what you get it should have a retractable daggerboard.

Isn't that the board that came out after the classic 260 and 250something wave? The polyethylene short board. The only way to break 'em was with a 357 magnum. What was the VR for?

I think it's more like 80 ltrs, and virtually impossible to learn on.
