the rope was worn out !

So what to do now ? use barbed wire?

Nope. Use a couple of loops and rounded edges like everyone else, for lower line tension and less fraying. WSing gear design has been through the wringer for decades now; they have most details like that figured out. Even Spectra line will fray at sharp edges. Smile

No, it is my way or the highway.

I drilled a larger hole and inserted a plastic tube to prevent wear and tear.

I can already tell you are impressed.

Double serving of kebab for everyone if it still work after one month.

For the beginners who have just joined the thread and applaud my antics, the tape is too prevent me being hurt by one of the two screws when I jibe, and not to hold everything in place.

By the way, I am applying for a Borat award in the category Did-It-Myself Boom End.

Wondering, I am, if you have considered how much time you've spent
designing and retrofitting, and redesigning, and fidgeting
and amortized that time over the number of riggings it will take to
break even on the time you plan to save riggng.

You may find that you will have to rig that boom thousands of times,
before you actually start saving time.

But I do give you the Borat Award for the most aesthetically pleasing
boom end I've ever seen.

This thread has entertained me since May. Double serving of steak fries and all the catsup to go with them to Yvan. Very Happy

I think this thread can only be understood in a Middle Eastern context.

I am living 30 km away from the nearest fancy bar/restaurant.

Yesterday, I tried to go out but ended up stuck in traffic for 3 hours.

So, I figured out I might as well stay at home to develop new windsurfing equipement for my international fan base. You have not seen my Did-It-Myself uphaul mechanism. It is in development. I will soon release it for your viewing pleasure.

My fan base was mostly made of old school dictators with a leaning toward slapstick comedy but it has now grown internationally (nearly 9,000 views so far). For instance, when winds are good, I can hear laughter from Hawaii.

Are we getting Punk'd?

On the other hand, if rigging it quick is that important to you than have you considered using one of those clew pulleys from a trim system? Just wrap and go?
