Rhys was awesome at the Gorgesurfshop. Always quick to say hello and jump right in to a casual conversation about anything (or nothing at all). A smile on his face, a passion for his sports and the gift of gab made him *great* at what he did. He will be sorely missed and I feel deeply for his family.
Will be thinking about you out on the soup Rhys...

Noooo!!!
He was the most positive and thankful person I think I have met.
He thought his life was perfect. At Swell last year, he looked me in the eye and said that he honestly could not imagine having a better life. I truly got a glimpse of person who's attitude I wanted to have....always will.
I am going to miss Rhys so much.
Amy and I are so, so sorry Kelly.

There will be a memorial gathering for Rhys this Saturday June 15th. It will take place at Kelly's house and field, 161 Larson Rd in Underwood, WA starting at 5pm. A potluck dinner will take place after saying goodbye. Please bring a dish to share and some beer or wine. Questions? Call Janis (509)637-0397 or Rich (509) 637-0552. |

Rhys was so great to us at the shop and I always loved seeing him out in 'the wild' at a launch. A super nice guy. I can't believe it.

Julia and I were both shocked and hugely saddened to hear of this, and our deepest condolences go out to all of Rhys's friends, family, and co-workers.
Not so long ago I very nearly died myself - this is yet another reminder that life is precious and rare and it can end at any time - don't take anything for granted and live it now for all it's worth. We will miss you Rhys and we'll be thinking of you next time we're on the water. Aloha. |

We were just visiting Rhys at The Gorge Surf Shop just a few weeks ago and we were chatting about gear, life and his visit to the east coast.
Our hearts weep for Kelly and the rest of the family. We send prayers and strength to get you through...... |

I'm just arriving for my annual Gorge visit and I'm very saddened by this. Rhys always had a ready smile and encouraging word at Swell every time I saw him there. My first Swell session will be for you, Rhys.
