If we got enough people using this for onsite reports it would be an incredible tool for all of us. Just takes a second on the beach.
Check it out below:

No offense Mike, that On Site interface kind of sucks, especially from a mobile phone. It shouldn't be too hard to create a text interface (like twitter or facebook) to post reports from the beach.
Personally, a combination of the video cam down there and the South Tower, Alcatraz, Angel Island sensors should give you a good idea about wind. Yesterday was great 4.5 conditions just outside of Anita. Bumpy on the inside and super smooth in the middle.

No offense taken. I totally agree with you that text is best. If you have ever used the Hatchery wind graph you have seen my detailed text reports. Text is the best however.....
We and others have tried a text interface since text details are great. All of attempts to use text via twitter, e-mail circles etc are great for a short while then usage fades fast. People in a rigging frenzy just don't want to take time to type stuff out on a phone.
Usage of the interface above is growing since with a few taps you can publish the wind strength, quality, sail size and number of people out.

2:45 pm, msamols (windsurfing): Wind is WSW @ 25-30 mph and steady. Waves are choppy. Tide is flooding. 10-15 people out. 4.5-5.0m sails.
...looks like it's working.

Why dont we just install the old pay phone, and take turns answering it?
