Any time I see a picture or video of myself windsurfing, I'm reminded why I never became a porn actor. Like having sex, we all feel really good windsurfing. What we look like, however, can be an entirely different thing. Its easy to feel like Robby Naish. Looking like him, not so much.
Koogzah, in those early films, made it all look so easy and fun. No sex face for him.
Unlike Koogzah's relaxed visage in all his films, check out my sex face in this shot.

Solitary sailing at Third. 6.6/110L after 1 pm for an hour and half. Place was deserted while I was there. Maybe everyone was sailing Berkeley where it was blowing close to 30 about the time I was in the water. Brutal flood chop with the wind at 260 made it tough on my joints.

All by myself for a nooner at the infamous Marker 14. Some of the smoothest swell of the season, and nicely powered on a 5.5. The cool-down has arrived.

Much to my surprise when I first saw the Forebay today there
were no weeds to be seen. I talked to the ranger and they said
they had de weeded the Forebay with herbicide a few weeks ago.
Must have done it after I was last there about 2 week ago and it
was medium thick and about 50% covered. Anyway
it looked really windy so I rigged 4.7 and used my thruster setup for
about 45 minutes then it dropped quite a bit . Went to a 5.3 and bigger
board that seemed about right but the wind was up and down and moving
around but not to bad. I had no trouble with a normal fin there are still
little hints of weeds around the sides.
The conditions seem more like April May than September.

I haven't sailed San Luis in years, but if the weather stays like this on the Peninsula I may drive down there and sail this weekend. Looks like a decent swell heading this way early next week, Santa Cruz surfing could be good!

If you haven't sailed San Luis in years you need to be aware that.
There is now a Zebra Mussel check at the gate which means
your boards have to be dry and clean to get in. Especially the
straps(dry).

Sep 3 a good day, nicely powered up with 5.0 the wind last for quite a while filling in inside and still going strong when I leave at 5:45. Lots of people out (the Bridge to Bridge race starts late afternoon) including the 18' Australian Skip. They look just bloody dangerous!!!!!!!
Sep 4 kind of odd: the wind (contrary to my claim of off shore wind in September!) is totally on shore. Basically no wind past 1/3 way out. It makes for very short runs but there is nice "swell" and it fun to navigate all the way west on a short strip of wind.

Actually had a good session yesterday at TI.
Open gate, launched over the rip rap at the jetty with 7.3, 115 L. Pinched up against the flood. Wind lower halfway across, so eight reaches made it to Area 51, where a solid 22 held from Bouy 6 to damn near the Bay Bridge. Got as close to the center caisson as I ever have.
Almost 90 minutes of full power, without the crazy chop typical of ebbs or higher winds.
I was the only one to rig large enough to make it. This may have been the only patch of sailable wind in the area. Lucky.
