Wow. 400-530 was Gorge-like. Where was everyone?

Failed to follow my rule of "always bring everything" and left my small board at home. Great fun, though maybe this was my season ender- Berkeley really delivered this year!

The three SUP'rs who launched at TI to do a down-winder to Emeryville had the right idea. The cross sectional area of one's torso was enough sail to propel a board.

A good number (for TI ) of folks out on a range of sail sizes from 4 to 5 sq meters. And everyone felt like the they had the wrong size sail. then the right one. then wrong one...

After yesterdays ass whupping at Coyote I enjoyed a nice mellow session at Third Avenue. The Kona CarbOne and my 6.6 Hucker was the right setup. Never off the plane, I sailed to the Hayward side and rode the swells on that side of the Bay. Third Ave. swells certainly makes gybing the longboard easier...really starting to enjoy this board. Fully planing coming in, even in the sketchy wind on the inside.

It twas a superb day. 3.5 hour session, much of which was OPed on 4.0. I could have been on between 3.0-3.5 upwind Emeryville. Nice swells.

I must have missed you. I was the only one upwind as the formulas where being chased downwind. That's when the wind really picked up. Sailed down around the restaurant and wind started to feel more up/down.

Funny thing was some people never got on the water and left because they saw the up/down from the graph. Sometimes, the graphs don't tell the whole story, when you really know how and when to sail Berkeley.

Pt. Isabel got my A rating yesterday/Monday (or two woofs?). Launched at 3:50 PM using 5.5/Mike's Lab combo (176 lbs). Great sun and water, but too lonely. Stayed close to launch since I was out there alone. Any time the iWind gauge (poorly sited) is reading 17 avg you can almost be assured of a good session. Company encouraged. Cheers, David

County line Malibu rocked today. 72 degree water with occasional head high surf. Felt like the tropics.

Last few days were excellent considering its October. 5.2 with head high yesterday and several feet overhead today. Would have been perfect today but some were doing strange things (not looking around and worse...) in the line up making it a bit dangerous at times. Still, lots of big smiles to go around!

A.L. is Arroyo Laguna. Near by IW sensor is Piedras Blancas. Central Cali wave sailing at its best!

Not so good today, the swell is still here but the wind, not so much.
A MASSIVE dead whale is currently washing in at Pico Creek, it could be quite rude there for quite awhile.
Film at 11:00.
