Actually went to the Stick first..already gusting to 20 just past noon and I forgot to put a shortboard in the van today.. damn! Went to 3rd where it was 8-9 on the inside and 15 in the channel. The 6.0 Flyer and the foil worked quite well in the milder conditions. Saw Dimitry launch from upper 3rd 15 minutes later with a 4.5?. He's really become a good foiler. No kiters or other windsurfers to be seen. Left at 2:30 to avoid the commute.

CTI was the 1st commercially availible carbon brace in the latter 70's..same price.
I used one on my left knee along with Scott boots for 5 years of motocross racing.

October is only a few days away. Surprised to find myself powering up on 4.2 and 3.5 yesterday and today, respectively, at the Stick. Few people are sailing now. With such nice combinations of wind strength, wind direction (NW), sunshine and warm air, only five guys out yesterday and three today. I suspect many have already done with the windsurfing season and planning their skiing trips, maybe.
A newbee kite boarder jointed us today. He launched from the upwind sandy beach. After too many falls and water-starts he decided to come in at the Windsurfer Circle. Unsuccessful to put his kite on the beach, he wisely took his toy apart in the water, in the process trashing some fishing lines. It's a good thing that mad fisherman was away.

I do rooftop gardening instead of skiing..almost harvest time for my girls.
I was at the Stick at 12:30 on Tuesday when 4.2 on the foil was doable. By 1 pm it was gusting to 27 and way too much for the foil. I was going to rig 3.3 but did not bring my 370 mast so I quit. I will surely bring a shortboard whenever I sail the Stick.
My season ends late October so and I should get 150 sailings in before years end.

Tues 4.7 until around 3:30, when it just kept dropping.
Started on 3s86 with a 18cm weed fin, but had to switch to freestyle board after 5 runs at the Emeryville side. Much lighter at Berkeley, where I middle dock launch.
Bud was still 80% planing at 5:45 on 5.4 and 102 liters, when the wind was reading 10-17. 150lbs.

Berkeley was windier early on but as it dropped by 4, upwind of Eville side improved. Couple of us were at least 150 yards upwind of eville marina. Sailed on 4.0/85 and came in at 5, only because it was getting cold. Could have sailed til 6.

bert,
Love the produce of your roof top garden. Forgot to mention that a bonehead marijuana delivery driver parked behind us yesterday with a huge "Marijuana Delivery" sign on the top of his truck. I guess he was lucky not getting robbed.

Been good this week after a disappointing Sunday at Berkeley.
Monday solid 6.0+ winds, Tuesday marginal 4.7, Wed. wound up 7.4. Probably really the same 14-22 all 3 days but using varied gear makes it interesting.
Probably something like 5.5 and 90 liters would have been perfect the last 3 days.

This morning had consistent winds of about 25 with an ebb tide. Here, JT takes flight on the Sacramento River with Mt. Diablo as the background.
