I have to put in a word about the excellent sailing at T.I. yesterday. Many were out on 4.5's including myself. The swell was large and choppy but long enough between peaks to get a real mogul skiing type of experience on my short board.

September 8 was the fifth day in a row of good early morning wind in the Delta. I sailed a 4.7 and a 65L board and there were large, rolling waves. Later, I rigged a 5.0 and then a 5.4 with a larger board, shown in the image (credit to Marcus Marschall, professional photographer). My sessions went from dawn to lunchtime for five days. Yesterday was mercifully lighter and today was altogether dead, so I'm ready to go again.

3rd Ave - Wednesday - Thermal winds keep blowing, steady 5.0m for me last couple of days. Smoother water too, easier on the body. Number of sailors venturing out rapidly diminishing this week despite the fine conditions and favorable afternoon ebb tide. Warm out there today, nice sunset.

windward1, I eat a power bar while driving to the Delta and drink water. Often, the best wind in the Bay Area happens there right after sunrise. After my first session, I eat another power bar stored in a cooler and drink more water. That holds me until lunch. You have to check iWindsurf at first light (regardless of the forecast), with your gear packed, and depart like it's a fire alarm--although i do brush my teeth. I've enjoyed a lot of sunrises from the Antioch bridge looking across the valley to the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Don't worry. On the day I took this picture, I stopped safely, pulling over before the bridge.

Had a nice little session sailing in the fog off Natural Bridges with a Naish Titan and Ezzy 7.0 after watching whales from West Cliff. Despite being foggy over the water, it was warm.

Miss yesterday but today was probably about the same wind strength and conditions. Overpowered 4.3 (I could have easily been on 3.7), big swell, not too much wind outside toward the dingy-dingy ("the church"). At first (2:30) conditions are relatively mellow (still 4.3) but then pick up moving into 3.7 territory. Another fantastic day in this treasure of a spot Many people out, I call it a bit short at 5.

Sailed a bit later today..started at 2 pm. 4.7/95 L at the Stick. No gybes ( other than a few duck types)..just tacks.
Stick again on Friday at 1:30. 5.0/110 L. Again..did only tacks. A lot easier on the fat board.

Natural Bridges again for me today with the 7.0. Blowing 15 to 20 knots and the water was beautiful as the sky was clear. I was the only one out.
