Nice day at Crissy with powered up 5.0 and 85. Good conditions, choppy as usual west of Point Anita, but also some nice swell here and there. Long stretches of very short high frequency chop at the North tower, so small that did not really effect the board. Many windsurfers out and a number of kites.

Talking of which: Passed a hydrofoil Kite that seemed particularly slow and later on I see the pilot literally going up and down (vertically, like a cork) while being pulled by his kite. It looked like he lost the board but he seemed otherwise ok bouncing up an down. I asked and did not reply ...

Later on a second Kiter who lost board and kite get rescued by the Coast Guard. Apparently he complained with the person who called the CS. If true he clearly has no idea of how quickly you can drown at sea.

They are keeping up with my observed average: when present in enough numbers it is one rescue/day

I love it when wind and waves cooperate. Nice 4.7 with some 8-10 foot faces mostly doing the perfect DTL peel. ok so the water was a bit chilly and the air was too, but looking up and seeing the lip a few feet plus overhead has a way of numbing the other senses.

Another nice day at Crissy powered up 5.0 and 85. Very choppy after around 4 pm ... not very much else to report: lots of windsurfers!

Strange R&G day yesterday.
Got there at 5, after it died, and went out anyways with a 6.0 and SSport109.
Way overpowered for an hour, got tired, went in, and it reads "21 in the gusts".
Felt like 24 to me, maybe more in the channel.

Like knee pain, shoulder pain, work hassles, and anything else that drags us toward the grave. Viva life! Viva Waves!

I wonder if it's worthless to surf sail around here.....
Pics of Cabo Verde, and trips to Punta Abreojos, shows me there is almost no practical value and pursuing the local wave spots, including Davenport, Palo, or even Steamer Lane.
Sure, you gotta learn the basics before heading up to the real thing, but basics takes only a few years.

Fort Point went off Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Monday was best (missed it).
