I closed the year out sailing Coyote just past noon on a 4.2/95L Fanatic Freewave. Really cold, northerly winds at 25-30 mph made it tough to sail. 3 windsurfers, 3 kiters plus a foiler on a 2.5 while I was there...hardy souls all. My sailing buddy Wilson wanted no part of today and chilled in the mancave.., he prefers warm weather and steady winds Wink

Good going Bert. I got out yesterday for my 120th day of windsurfing for the year of 2018. I know I did not ever catch up to your count, but it was fun trying. Yesterday was fantastic at the place that shall not be named. So glad I was able to go.

Did you have knee surgery ( I think it was your knees that you said needed attention) or did you go with PT. Either way, how did it work out?

I'm undergoing stem cell treatment on both knees to avoid surgery for now..I'm in my 3rd month of the treatment and it seems to be working. I do need to shed 10 lbs before spring season to ease the load on my knee joints. Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you as well. Glad the treatments are working out. May your 2019 sailing sessions be numerous and most enjoyable!

My first session of 2019 was at the Stick with the wind very up and down (5-20) at 245-250..not a favorable direction or doable unless you longboard or foil. The giant Infinity 84 wing rose quickly in the gusts and stayed up in the lulls..such a stable wing. Started to rain just past noon and I worried about thunder..I didn't want to turn into a fried lumpia that my wife of 49 years makes so well Smile
I sailed for an hour and half with the board always up..just needed to pump the sail and shimmy the lower body to keep the foil up in the lulls. No one else was there..wimps.
BTW I was on a 4.2 Hucker.

First time this year I’ve seen fog in the “gap” and running down Skyline. The season is coming!!!

There was windsurfing happening that day. I surfed Linda Mar and had a blast. On the way home coming south near Crystal Springs reservoir, I too noted the classic fog pattern we all crave on the peninsula. The next day, I got word it blew like stink in the usual spots south of Pigeon Point Lighthouse. It wasn't predicted, so I missed it. Sad

The season never ends, it just changes. I've got two days windsurfing in January, not including the missed day. Mix it in with surfing, SUP'ing, Foiling, kiting (yikes!), snow skiing or boarding and you can't go wrong.

Pick your poison and just keep moving.

Not good Berkeley from 1-3 Sat. Maybe 4-22 with a few 30q blasts, but 70% slogging with 90 liters and 5.2.
Slogging builds arm strength.
