Anyone know if this is a good fin for a free-race board

I have had the MFC RC-2 46cm fin for 4 years now. I use it on my 2009 Starboard Futura 122 with an 8.3 and 7.5 cammed race sails. I am 200 pounds in weight. It is fast and has worked very well with this sail combination for me. The board cuts up wind well with this fin and remains easy to jibe too.

Good luck.

I really did not like that fin.. I tried the RC-1 and RC-2 on some RRD and Fanatic slalom boards in Berkeley, and they just felt really draggy and slow. I put a Vector and Techtonics fin in the same boards, and they were much better.

YMMV

You'll like more the Liquid Pro. It's faster and let's you make tighter gybes. Slalom type fins have to be really good, otherwise they create lots of drag like the original one on my SS. I ended up ordering RC2, but they shipped me Liquid Pro by mistake-I'm so happy with it, a lucky mistake indeed.
