It apears that the contractors hired to do the water front have blocked all access to the water.WTF

All access to parking, rigging and the sandbag launchs have been fenced off. I was told by one of the construction crew that this will be the case for up to 9 months.
The fence begins at the rigging area and ends well past the Boardsports shop
At he sand beach.
Boardsports is aware of the issue and are working with the park to come up with a resolution. Untill then access for lessons and freesailing are nonexistent.
Wish them and there shop good luck.

It should also be noted that our $60 dollar parking passes are no longer worth
The paper they are printed on.

Lets hope something gets worked out.........SOON !!

WTF. Seems like they could work around one end of the lot or another for August anyway. Other than that, our two choices would seem to be the old ASD location (wade in mud, even deader inside) or the inlet at the north end of the marina seawall (hey, just downwind it to 3rd if you get pushed in a flood Sad )

So just how far south does the fence extend?

Anyone know what the deal is with the proposed wind-blocking building north of the park area?

Typical clueless big/small govt crap!

What about considering the USE of the facility that is being improved,
what about the users (not just WS) of CP?

It seems to be obvious that most of the use is in the summer.
Why not just start this Nov 1st when no one would care for six months?

I would call, but I am not a SM county tax payer.
Now if it was in SC county... ;-O

I called San Mateo County Department of Parks...

(650) 363-4020 - Mon-Thurs 8AM-5:30 PM

The person who answered was not aware of the work. She forwarded me to the supervisor, where I left a voicemail.

I'll check out their permit status and see what I can do.

When this project was initiated some 5 or so years ago, Pam Noyer (head ranger at the time) assured us that some access would be provided for windsurfers during construction. I haven't been to Coyote to sail in quite a while. Perhaps Carl could speak to the rangers on his next visit.
