I think to install a pair of boxes to make this board a twin is not the best option. a 2+1 using the tuttle that's there and the addition of small surf boxes
is a better option, to keep weight down and make things simple.
The first thing I WOULD suggest is too try is a weed or shallow water fin
from my own POV it would be on the operating table with a router in hand _________________ K4 fins

when using toe AND asymmetrical fin, you decrease some of the drag, if you stay small on the side fins, it doesn't matter so much, but if you increase the size, then it will, also as close to the rail as possible, 1.5cm to rear center of fin box, you can use smaller fins on the sides _________________ K4 fins

I have a Bic WindSup 11’6. It works very well in light-winds subplaning and even better after I replaced the standard Dolphin rear fin with a longer weed fin.
I was wondering if adding two 10 cm side- thrusters would add extra lift, increase speed and eventually help planing.
I usually sail in light to moderate winds ( 15-18 knts ).
My stock sail is an old 6.2 N.P. Garda. Properly outhauled, this sail allows a good wind range. I also have a smaller Sailworks 5.6 for stronger winds approaching 18 knts, but I seldom use it
Thanks

Sailing across a reef on a formula board that requires large fins is a bad idea. Get a smaller board that uses smaller fins. |

You must be joking! There must be quite some weed there! Maybe this board should be called more appropriately a “ weedsurfer”…
No , I was thinking of some less intrusive side-fins, not fins on steroids…
