|
I got a bit too close to shore and dragged my fin through the mud. The plastic piece that adapts the fin to the fin box cracked near one of the screws. The screw head also sheared off.
The crack is hard to see in the attached photo, but it's localized to where the bolt was located and won't spread anywhere else.
Two things:
1) Is the whole plastic piece easily replaceable, and if so, from where? The last thing I broke-- chinook boom clamp-- it took a month to get the replacement part
2) I need a replacement screw thing-- what is the name of this piece... Its two parts, a fine threaded, flat head screw that screws into a part whose name I don't know-- it looks like a bolt with the center of the shaft hollowed out so the machine screw can be threaded in. Original part looks like its made of brass. If I can't replace the plastic part, I'm going to just drill another hole further aft and countersink it, but I need another one of these to hold the plastic part to the fin.
Thanks!
