If one was to take mrgybe's view of Democratic leadership and provide a mirror look at Senator McConnell, House Speaker Boehner, and the RNCs Reince Priebus, you would have the same kind of scheming and unprincipled behavior in spades. McConnell made it clear right from on onset of President Obama's first term that he would do everything he could to thwart Obama's agenda and work to limit him to a single term in office. Needless to say, McConnell and the Republican party in the Senate used the filibuster in an unprecedented way to show just unscrupulous and difficult they could be. On the House side of Congress, Speaker Boehner created a circus that is unequaled in its lack productivity and pettiness. How many times did the House try to kill the ACA?

Regarding the attempts to stain Hillary Clinton's character, it's just part of a right wing campaign to fool weak minded Americans. Just listen how mrgybe easily rips off all the carefully scripted Republican talking points. It's all innuendo and smoke designed to target and question Clinton's integrity and honesty. None of this stuff has been proven, but it doesn't have to be. In the political arena, side shows like Rep. Goudy's inquiry into Benghazi and anything else they can drag up are designed to keep up the Republican drumbeat against Clinton in the media.

Thoughtful Democrats can see through all the Republican BS and theater. After this kind of nonsense is rewound and replayed over and over for the next year and a half, folks will tire of the tune and realized just how desperate and empty it truly is.

I wonder if Mr. Gybe would be so kind as to name the Republican Presidential Candidates who are not: "the classic scheming, unprincipled politicians that normal voters despise."

Assuming you can support your allegation of flat out lying, are you "neutral" on Cheney also? You may be prepared to cheerlead for abnormally flawed leaders and Presidential candidates with your "everyone does it" line. Hopefully there are enough people who will demand more than that appalling standard with which you seem so comfortable.

Cheney does not get a"neutral", he is a dispicable human being, the worst American politician in our history. I have shared my opinion many times on Hillary, and any other people asked of me, you refuse to opine on ANY Republican candidates.
Obviously , in a perfect world, I would love to support one of my heroes like Bill Bradley. However, due to Citizens United, our politicians are only as good as the $$$$ they raise...so we get what we pay for. For me its a choice, Hillary or a Republican(which means an even more conservative Supreme Court, a Republican cabinet, a repeal of Obama Care, and all the other goodies the GOP brings) so, an easy choice, Liar or Not.

Innocent until proven guilty--but. Scooter, Dick's go to boy, was convicted of outing a CIA agent for political gain. That was a crime, and Dickie boy got him pardoned.

Not yet convicted, but if we assume that the charges against the bridge gate crew stand up--one has already pleaded guilty--then the best that can be said about Christie is he is a bully that selects close advisors who are prone to criminal conspiracies.

And then of course, we could talk about the crimes and unethical behaviors of the oil industry...

High name recognition talent, without significant negatives, are missing on both sides of the aisle. Talent is being developed in California, but too soon to be presidential (or too old and cranky in the case of Jerry).

The best talent on the Republican side seems to be Rubio and Fiorana. She is articulate and one of the best at making crazy Republican policies seem sensible. Think the good old boys will vote for her? Or Ben? Dream on. Same story with Rubio. You have to be as crazy as Ted Cruz and Hispanic to have a choice with the far right.

Unfortunately there aren't enough "normal voters" that despise "scheming unprincipled politicians", otherwise we wouldn't be seeing the fix that we are in, in so many areas today.
I'll blame the biased media, and the lack of proper American history, economics, and political science being taught in the schools today for that.
And the higher up in education you get, the more biased it seems to become, hello UC Berkeley and most ivy league schools, for an example.

And that is why we should close all the schools that tried to teach you critical thinking.

For those with a failing memory, Scooter Libby was not pardoned. Bush refused to do so. Unlike the greatest President EVER, who pardoned Marc Rich, a serial tax evader who illegally did business with Iran. But, of course, his pardon had nothing to do with the large donations/ gifts made to the DNC and to the Clintons by Rich's wife. Pure coincidence.........again.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

Let's be honest mrgybe, President George W. Bush commuted the prison sentence of Scooter Libby, the former Chief of Staff to Bush's vice president, Dick Cheney on July 2, 2007. Libby was basically let go on the penalty side, but he still wears the crime and the disgrace of it. Without Bush, Libby would have spent some time in federal prison.

Right Nw and Gybe.

My daughter and her best friend at Berkeley were notified that posting conservative news on their dorm doors constituted hate speech. Being the sharp girls they were they went to the law school and found a conservative professor hiding under his table. He went to bat for them, and the rest is history.

Today the conservative club at Berkeley is the 2nd largest student organization there.
