Crap!!! Makes my paltry 30.5 mph on a Kona seem slow. Well, there's always next season!

on really flat water, try stepping a bit further back on the board than the foot straps. lift up on your lead hand. watch the MPH upticks..... cheers.

Already weigh 210!

As for sailing at 35+mph with my feet out of the footstraps? No thanks!

spennie, really flat water, and a smaller fin. try it. it's spectacular. first try with your back foot, then your front. stipulation, obviously, sailing a slick or a spot that has a 1/2 mile of really shallow water upwind of you.

one can also get the same benefit by turning off the wind in the straps lit, then lifting the front hand, arms straight, then lifting the back. again, smaller fin, not by much, just 3-5 cm is all it takes.

I don't know, John, when I went 30.5 I used a 40cm MFC RC-2 and a 7.1 Sailworks NX race sail on very flat water, and it was pretty hairball! Seems like the only thing keeping me from railing up was the death-grip my toes had on the board. Maybe I'll try my 38 Tectonics Gold Wing.

We'll start our own contest, speedsailing a Kona One hull! No limits except must be a standard Kona One. Got the balls? Bring it on!
