What's the skinny on some good camping options north of Bodega? Does not need to be a windsurfing spot per say. Just want to go camping on the beach with my wife and daughter. Gonna pick the little one up from pre school friday mid day and off we go. Can not go too far as I need to be back for Sunday. Thanks for the help.

There is a good campground under the bridge at Albion. It is situated along a stream that flows into the ocean at that point. Popular with abalone divers. A good spot to watch river otters play and feed in the stream if you arise a little pre-dawn.
I am not familiar with what else is available as that is the only place I have gone and that was while abalone diving.

Salt Pt. State Park (Sonoma County coast) is on Hwy 1 twenty minutes north of Jenner. Two beautiful coastal campgrounds. You can walk/hike through the forest to the water. Only busy during abalone season/summer. South try Half Moon Bay State Beach, campground short walk to the beach. Town of Half Moon Bay is five minutes away.

By the way, 89Spring, I have windsurfed out of Albion. Probably the one place that I have and that LeeD has not. Was a large displacement board with a large sail and the winds were light and variable. Tough to tack out through the kelp beds that fill the channel entrance. Channel in between the kelp is only maintained for powered fishing type boats. Not for sailing vessels that require room to tack. High cliffs block the wind and make it gusty. I did it mostly just to say I had...and give the abalone divers something different to see.

Another option is Stillwater Cove County Park a couple miles south of Salt Pt.

ps P. Hill, did you used to work at Salt Pt many moons ago?
