From La Times but available in dozens of places on the net.
Any Tea or even Coulter can easily learn the truth. They prefer the lie.
I am not supporting OBamacare but I am really sick of the TEAS and other GOP lying in our faces like we were stupid.
I read the TEA Manifesto. Lying to the American people and holding us hostage isn't in there. The rank and file Teas need to throw out bad government like Cruz.
"The law treats the president and the rest of the executive branch the same way it treats anyone else covered by a group health plan that was in place before the Affordable Care Act was enacted. Such plans are exempted from some of the law's requirements, but they do have to eliminate their caps on lifetime payouts and, by next year, their annual benefit caps.
For lawmakers and their aides, the act goes an important step further: It requires them to buy insurance through the new state exchanges.
In other words, it kicks them out of the federal employee health plan.
The exchanges weren't supposed to sell coverage to large employers (such as Congress) before 2017, creating a problem that drew the ire of lawmakers from both parties. If they and their staff had to buy insurance as individuals, the government would no longer be able to pay any part of the cost (it currently pays about 75%). That would amount to a significant pay cut.
In response, the administration's Office of Personnel Management — the federal government's human resources agency — ruled Sept. 30 that lawmakers and their office staff could buy coverage through the exchange for small businesses in Washington, and the government could continue to pay the same portion of those employees' insurance costs.
They would not be eligible for premium subsidies, however.
That ruling subjected Congress to the same rules faced by every other employer using a small-business exchange. " |

Obama needs to pull an Executive Order and raise the debt limit without Congress, it is legal for him to do under the very specific and broad language of our Constitution pertaining to Government debt in which it states that Debt shall not be questioned. And that the obligations of debt have to be met by Congress and if they are not then the President must do so.
This is what needs to be done, we cannot lose Billions while the Tea Party is out having drinks at our expense while refusing to do their job. The Constitution has this honoring Debt clause because of a similar situation in which Southerners dominated the Congress during Abraham Lincolns term and they said they wouldn't pay the Civil War debt--so in that 14th Amendment an entire section deals with debt.
See, these types of people will continue to persist and try to destroy our nation, but the Constitution prevents them from doing so.
Invoke the Constitution and raise that debt limit, we don't need to wait for Obstructionists. Abraham Lincoln made sure we don't have to. |

Riptide--Obama has said that he has discussed that option with his attorney's, and it is not a favored approach. I think that is the main reason.
Strategic reasons play into this as well. Boehner has cut several deals with Obama that he couldn't deliver. It makes it clear that Boehner is toast, but it also makes it clear that Obama cannot achieve any compromises on anything that requires legislation. He is the smartest guy in the room in Washington, and knows that he can block the Reps with the Senate and a veto. So any significant achievements require re-taking the house. A tall order, but with Boehner wounded and the Tea baggers revealed as lunatics, the Reps will have trouble raising funds and holding many of their House seats. I think he is also playing the long game. |

Hey Riptide, in case you haven't done the math, our debt service is around 31 billion per month and our inflow of tax receipts is around 300 billion per month.
The president can easily make the required payments. If this was such an urgent thing, why would the president take a $100 million vacation to Africa? Why would he fly in AF1, his wife in AF2, and his dog in a 3rd plane?
Congress holds the power of the purse. If Obama did what you'd like him to do, this would be a dictatorship, thanks to the useful idiots who would allow such a thing. |

Couldn't find a thing about AF1, AF2, and doggie plane.
What did I miss?
Are you maybe thinking about the Martha's Vineyard trip?

Yes you are correct. $100 Million trip to Africa with his family and entourage, and 3 planes to Martha's Ginyard for he, his wife, and his dog. |
