I don't question the pursuit of Bergdahl's release.........I strongly question the price and the ulterior motives.
The United States transferred five more detainees — all of them Yemenis — from the military prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, on Wednesday, the Defense Department announced. Their release intensified the dispute between the Obama administration and several Republican senators over President Obama’s recent flurry of transfers as he seeks to empty the American-run prison. The latest transfers came one day after several Republican senators, including John McCain of Arizona, proposed legislation that would place a moratorium on the release of most of the prisoners held at Guantánamo. The move was widely interpreted as an attempt to halt the recent surge in releases.

But hey, they are Yemenis. What could possibly go wrong in the Yemen? After all, the decision maker in chief told us only a few months ago that Yemen is a model of our counter terrorism activities. |

And the solutions? The better way? Oh, now I remember. The Declaration of Independence doesn't apply to anyone except native born U. S. Citizens. |

Ya, 5 to 1 wasn't near enough, we should have completely emptied out Gitmo, then we would have gotten the deserter back in a fraction of the time it took. ISIS wouldn't have taken over the battle field, but would have gone home in peace leaving a trail of flowers behind them. Peace would have broken out all over the mid-east with such rapidity that it would have made all the doubters heads swim.
We would have even gotten an apology for the 911 attacks from the former terrorists involved that are still alive.
The war on terror would soon become a distant memory, and a statue of "Obama the redeemer" would rise where Gitmo once stood, wearing his peace medal of course. |

More constructive ideas and suggestions from the party of hate. Some of them think they are being funny. |

Just taking the liberal idealistic, pie in the sky, train of thought, and taking it out to it's "logical" conclusion, using the reasons that Obama stated why Gitmo needed to be closed.
Quite simple really.
Now it looks like we are going to cave to Iran's nuke demands, flowers of peace for everyone, let the doves fly!!!!!
They're going to have to build another statue. |

At least six already have, while searching for Berghdal even after they knew was a deserter.

He is also violating the Constitution -- i.e., he lacks the authority -- yet again by negotiating a treaty (this clearly qualifies; look it up) without Congressional approval. That's why >400 R and D Congressmen have filed their strong objection. |

Saudis now bombing Iran backed forces in Yemen, and talking openly about a nuclear capability. There is a significant risk of an escalating regional conflict. These are dangerous times as wiser heads here have warned for some time to much scorn from the left. Boggsy, still betting on oil's slide? Any hint of a threat to the delivery choke points will move the market.........and Saudis willingness to keep prices low will also be tested if the conflict is prolonged. And where is the US? Scurried out of town with our tails between our legs. Our influence in the region is virtually gone. No one cares what we think any more because, over the last 6 years, all we have done is talk. This is shaping up to be President Obama's legacy. It is richly deserved. |
