I found (in the trash) a wave glass board ca ~ 1980, in perfect shape with "Team Windwing" inlaid in both sides. Bottom side also says "Waddel ...". Its in perfect condition, mostly yellow. I would like to know the history of this board, who owned it, where it sailed. It seems to me that there must be some Bay area history here. Please e mail me what you know. Also if you have a respectable place to exhibit this board, I will give it to you.

much-loved, as witness the deck collapse under the heels. And is that a buckle in the making between the straps? Classic! but best for the wall, not the water!

Of course, this is not a board to sail, but for a wall (I don't have room) or museum. There is no history of windsurfing museum, maybe there should be.

By the looks of it, its about circa 1989. Hard to tell the shaper from the picture. Can you look at the tail (deckside) and see the brand or shaper?

Looks to me like an old Stretch or Doug Haut shaped board.

For many years Kevin Mitchell shaped and glassed boards in a shop within the Berkeley Windwing loft. Kevin, rest his soul, shaped boards for many of the Berkeley locals, including myself. Good chance this is one of his boards.

Brian is probably right. Bard Chrisman also shaped some slalom boards about that time. Mostly for himself though, and he was the Windwing sail maker in those days. Not to mention an astonishingly fast and skilled slalom racer.

Here is a picture of the tail and the underside of the bow. It says shaper: Coletta.
