Guess sailing Rooster Rock is out of the question today, Monday 1-20-2014, gusting to 70 mph, cold water and rainbows across the river.

Yes Isobar,
It was WAY too crowded today, check the pictures below, that is the main reason Larry Johnson and I did not sail at Rooster today. If it wasn't parked out we'd be on the water now.

Hey, if you're not using that wind, how about sending some of it down here to SoCal? Looks like about 1/3 of that amount would be enough! It's been weak or calm ever since I got my new board!

I drove by Rooster yesterday on my way to and back from the Sandy river. It was definitely smoke on the water! The freeway drive was interesting also. Driving westbound I was averaging over 20 mpg in my full sized 4WD Hemi PU. Driving eastbound I was averaging about 10 mpg Driving 60 mph against a 60 mph headwind sucks!
I also didn't see anybody out there while driving both directions.

It would be interesting to read an honest and forthright experience report from the windsurfer. Did I miss it somewhere? I admit I don't pay a whole lot of regular attention here.
I imagine the flock of birds (juvenile geese?) were seeking a more sheltered area to rest or feed.
