probably true for stevenson. but i *think* it could happen at rowena on a windy day. some of the ramps are a little more vertical in arenal than rowena as well, i believe. if you pick it right, you can get up there. this guy was doing backs...

just thought i'd report back on this year's costa rica, lake arenal windsurfing trip. i was there 16 days and i sailed 15 out of 16. lake arenal delivers. yet again.

anyone else off to a windy vacation spot this winter? how was it?

Just curious, were they renting new Fanatic Freewaves as was reported last year? If so, what are your impressions of them?

they do indeed have some new fanatic freewaves. they also had some from the previous year. i love them, but i also think they have become ubiquitous in the past few years. or maybe it's just where i sail.

to me, they epitomize the "new" shape of boards. quick(er) to plane, still pretty carvy and can be a touch loose, too.

ii have two of them now, but mine are quite a few years older. i'm thinking about upgrading sometime soon. i will say, however, that if i do upgrade i definitely will be getting the version with the tri-fin. i've sailed that in waves and swell and it's waaaaay more fun than a single fin.
