Careful....... some posters here don't believe in evolution.

There is no conflict between evolution and God. Time is the most difficult concept and may seem different depending on your perspective in the universe. According to a physicist it seems like only 7 days have past from the origin of the "big expansion", however billions of years to us. (assuming physicists are correct about the speed of the expansion).

Please explain why a comparison of God to evolution is valid. Isn't that like saying, "There is no conflict between growth and a banana"?

Please also explain the concept of a "day" in the realm of the big bang, when there was nothing but an expanding soup of subatomic particles and photons.

Why didn't God have his say with regards to evolution? Can you think of a better way of creating life? Yes, the existential explanation might work in your world but not mine.

Furthermore, the universal expansion (big bang) occurred in terms of light speed. If you ever read Einstein, you'd see how things might appear differently from different positions in the universe.

I can't convince you of Gods existence Pueno, I can only hope you see some hope and purpose in this life. Somehow that expanding soup of photons and sub atomic particles became life. And, even more importantly, somewhere around 6-10 thousand years ago that life flourished and became spiritual.

I might have a different feeling if they found any meaningful philosophy or literature that dated back 50,000 years or so.....well into our "human" existence.

How do you know He didn't? The scientific basis of evolution is as clever as the scientific basis of the four forces.

And by what magical powers do you know that I haven't?

A pity you didn't grace humankind with your wisdom 50,000 years ago -- you could have done then what Gutenberg did a few years ago. If you had, then we wouldn't need to read those pesky paintings on cave walls.

I'm very disappointed by these cave paintings Pueno. Not a single fur=lined bikini anywhere in sight!! (What was wrong with our ancestors? Crying or Very sad )

As for the argument that natural evolution of the human race was impossible without the direct hand of god (and nobody can prove otherwise) I counter with an equally bold assumption.

It was highly intelligent aliens who landed on earth 3 million years ago, and genetically modified one of the early primate species of the time to evolve into us, so that they could watch what would happen.

Let's see somebody disprove that! (It would also explain the lack of fur-lined bikinis in the cave paintings, since the aliens were probably just intelligent computers who didn't have sex. That's something we just developed without anything or anybodys help! Laughing Laughing Razz Razz )
